This week hasn't been a startlingly good one, especially in relation to sleeping normal hours (again? Really, Universe? Seriously?!?).
Also I'm in semi hibernation. It's the cold, mostly. It gets to me.
And I still don't seem as up to people as I used to be before spending 3 months by myself. I do however quite like time by myself, time with my husband, or time with smallish numbers of people.
Just a lot of people seem like, well, a lot of people.
For example, I went to a party tonight, and it was okay, but I would probably have rather been at home, even though it was nice to see some people I haven't seen in a while.
It's odd, but not bad.
But if real people are a bit much for me at the moment, I've been taking great glee in some completely not real ones - I've rediscovered my passion for small electronic minions.
These ones come from a game called Virtual Villagers (well, really it's the third one, but whatever), but I've been a fan of the kinds of games in which you get to watch little people do things since my first encounter with Settlers II. I was a big fan of The Sims until it got all complicated (and if you can ignore the fact that Maxis/EA make buggy pieces of shite - case in point, I have a Sims game that crashes my freaking DS. If you can't make something run okay on a handheld, you really are a mess)
Anyway, you name it, if it has little people you can boss around, who perform tasks and do cute things, I like it. Extra points if you can do things like drown them, breed them or feed them to your beast (Ah, Black & White, so much potential, so much half-success)
Extra bonus of electronic people: you can turn them off if you want. Or just play another game for a while. They don't care if you are grumpy, cold or still wearing your pyjamas.
Thus computer gaming and DVDs and fires and heaters and suchlike are good, and make winter nearly bearable.
Also good: Milo.
Oh, how I love the chocolatey (but not too chocolatey) goodness.
So: Week kind of sucked. Not sleeping great. In hibernation. Society equals bad. Little people equal good. Etc. Milo equals extra good.
If anyone wants me, I'll be in my pjs at my computer staying warm.
Love
Cat.
