Off again today on our whirling carousel of flights - this time to Ottawa, Canada.
It's odd, because it's only a couple of short flights, neither of them over two hours, but it's taking almost the whole day, by the time you factor in early check in times and a long stopover in Toronto.
Also, I realised yesterday that we are totally going from one capital city to another, which is kind of awesome, even if it does leave Dan attempting to work out a way to get to Mexico City and get the North American trifecta.
Washington has been brief, but entertaining. I have more to say on the topic of Museums, especially the US Holocaust Museum, which we visited yesterday, but I also have to finish packing and getting dressed and checking out and so on. I will try and come back to it, but my track record on such things isn't great.
We only saw a very tiny slice of DC on this trip - it was awesome, and filled to the brim, but more time is needed to see more than just a sample.
However, since this entire trip has been a neat side diversion, and therefore totally a complete bonus, it's all good.
Ottawa, I believe, will be Quite Cold. I plan to hide out, drink hot chocolate, write, sew and read, occasionally venturing out to Look At Things.
Still no idea when, exactly, we're coming home. Our flights are only being changed as necessary - so these flights into Canada are new, but we still have our original bookings out, even though we will almost certainly be there longer now. It makes sense, in terms of not wanting to change things multiple times, but it doesn't lead to even medium term future certainty.
It's a good thing we don't really mind.
